Q: What excites you most about the Podway project?
Aarav: The fact that we’re not just copying metro systems from abroad but building something that fits our terrain and energy context. It’s modern, but uniquely Nepali.
Q: Do you think it can improve Kathmandu’s urban design?
Absolutely. The Podway promotes vertical movement, so we’ll see less road expansion and more transit-integrated neighborhoods. It could encourage pedestrian zones, smart stations, and better planning overall.
Q: Any concerns as a future architect?
Yes. Integrating Podway stations into chaotic, unplanned areas will be a big challenge. But that also opens up opportunities for young architects like us to innovate.
